As a result of Sikkuy negotiating with the Haifa International Children’s Theatre Festival, the organisers will, for the first time, include Arab speaking shows in this year’s programme. Additionally, the festival administration will also produce publicity for the festival both in Hebrew and Arabic. On Thursday 15 October, Avirama Golan, co-chair of Sikkuy, gave a lunchtime lecture at UJIA and the Board of Deputies on the topic of why Arab citizens are needed in Israel's labour market. Golan explained that in order for Arab citizens to be better integrated into the Israeli workforce, the government needs to invest in numerous areas such as transportation infrastructure, health, housing, and education.
