Zefat Academic College aims to offer accessible higher education to the diverse residents of the Galilee and beyond. The multicultural nature of the campus and classrooms serve as a model for safe intellectual exploration among the student body, which includes the largest ratio of Arab Israeli and Druze students among the institutions of higher education in the Galilee, and perhaps the entire state of Israel.
All faculties of the Zefat Academic College place an emphasis on the multicultural and ethical aspects of Israeli society. The Social Sciences & Humanities Faculties, for example, interweave the preservation of the history and culture of historic Zefat through course work and research which is put into practice by the Zefat Center for the Study of Communities and Cultures in the Galilee.
The Zefat Academic College initiates multicultural internship and community service opportunities in the Upper Galilee for its students. It is also able to support students through the promotion of multicultural leadership opportunities and honours programmes that grant academic and living scholarships. Its current project priorities include multicultural seminars for professors and staff, Jewish-Arab tuition scholarships and a Jewish-Arab ‘Dormitory Initiative’.
