The Mandel Center for Leadership in the Negev believes that leadership is the ability to bring about change in institutions and organisations based on a value-oriented vision and the translation of vision into practical programs whose implementation we guide.
The main thrust of the Centre’s activity is long-term, in-depth training programs that are aimed at improving the leadership abilities of the social oriented teams in the public services – welfare, education, planning, health, etc. The goal of each programme is to bring about change in the guiding perceptions of the programme participants and their organisations, as well as to bring about change in the organisations’ conduct. This should result in significantly improving the quality of services offered and their effect on the recipient population.
The training programmes deal with issues that are on the agenda of the participants’ organisations, together with discussion of relevant theories. The type of training and its content are tailored to each group’s specific and unique needs.
In the framework of study, programme participants prepare projects, such as master plans, strategic plans and position papers. These projects are based on the vision and professional perceptions that are formulated in the course of the training.
