British Jews can strengthen Israel by reaching out to the country’s Arab minority. That was the message delivered to more than a hundred guests packed into the Jewish Museum on 24 March, at an event focused on the recent UK Task Force study trip to Israel. The Task Force leads annual study trips to Israel focused on issues relating to Arab citizens of Israel. Participants meet with private and public sector experts, academics, government and political figures.
In the past two years, over 150 leading members of the Jewish community have participated in the trips. They include, rabbis from across the denominational spectrum, representatives from British Israel Communications, The Board of Deputies of British Jews, The Jewish Leadership Council, United Jewish Israel Appeal, Jewish youth movements and numerous charitable trusts.

Alex Dwek, Chair of the Union of Jewish Students wrote an opinion piece in the Jewish News on his experience of the UK Task Force Study Trip and youth power amongst Arab citizens of Israel. He spoke of the several young, up-and-coming Israeli Arabs that he met, who are working in different ways to reduce inequalities and improve Jewish-Arab relations in the Galilee region. Mohammad Darawshe, Co-Executive Director of the Abraham Fund Initiatives, spoke of the UK Task Force Study Trip in an opinion piece in the Jewish News.
